Ashe unique  differential rewind  shafts provide fully automatic differential control. The shaft carries a series of 25 mm wide clutches that translate a PLC profiled air pressure in the shaft into controlled differential winding tension at each core station.

Clutches have core gripping capabilities on Ball Bearings that can be selected for overwind, underwind and off, giving a wide tension range. The entire shaft may be matched exactly to its winding requirement selecting and deselecting clutches as required by the core pattern.
