Label Inspection System
With Mechanical and Software Engineers working together, Ashe has designed
a unique machine to provide inspection and control of printed labels or printed
web in the Pharmaceutical, Food or Flexible Packaging Industry.
The design concept is to incorporate a full web Camera Inspection System with specific software designed to work in a fully reversible Doctor Rewind Machine.
There are several different sizes of machines starting from 350mm wide
up to a maximum of 800mm wide.
- The operation of the Inspector Winder is such that a reel is placed on the Rewind end, run at speed to the Unwind end, with the Camera mapping faults throughout the whole reel.
- The machine is then reversed, running the web from the Unwind to the Rewind and faults being placed on the Splice Table, as well as providing an image of the fault for the Operator to check, so that the Operator can then either accept the fault, or reject it by splicing out product, or by replacing labels.
- For certain Industries the machine can then reverse again to check that the fault has been corrected, and then wound to the Rewind end.
- Subsequent faults are repeated as the reel winds from the Unwind to the Rewind.
- There are other unique features to the machine such as "stop and inspect" at any time a fault that has been registered and also a "history mode" where defect images are stored for review before correction.
- The machine is a fully Reversible Rewinder with driven unwind and rewind with electronic edge guiding on the Unwind and Rewind ends, true tension control via pneumatically loaded Dancer Arms and a tension isolation nip between the Unwind and Rewind.
- The Camera and Flat Screen Display are integral parts of the machine, with all computers and electric's rear panel mounted.
- Installation is easy and requires a 415 phase 10-amp supply together with a 5 bar air supply.
