The S2 is the latest slitter rewinder to be launched by ASHE.
The S2 is available in widths of 800mm up to 2m and has maximum rewind capabilities of 600mm or 800mm. The maximum speed of the machine is 700m/min still keeping the excelling winding profiles and tensions you would expect from the Sapphire range.
The machine is capable of handling materials such as PP, PA, PET, PVC, laminates, paper and many others.
Once again, using a vacuum pull roller we are able to obtain perfect tension isolation without the need for nip rollers and S wraps. The machine incorporates loadcell tension control as standard and also a driven layon system. A unique core positioning device is used on the machine which is an alternative to the expensive and more conventional laser positioning.
Also, the need for lifting out a female knife bar is now eliminated on
this machine as the S2 incorporates a shaftless female knife bar. This
makes changing the female knives very quick and accurate, and does not
require any lifting out of heavy bars.

Various options are available on the machine from laser core alignment, digital knife positioning, automatic knife positioning, driven unwind, splice table, static eliminators and many different options for offloading the finished reels and taking them away from the machine.
The machine uses state of the art AC digital flux vector drives and also a Siemens S7 PLC which is linked to a PC touch screen. All the controls on the PC touch screen are picture illustrated, making the operators life simple. A modem is also connected for remote diagnostics.
Assembly of the machine as well as maintenance of the machine is simple as the electrical panel, pneumatics and operator panel are all integral on the machine.
