The Sapphire machine can be used for a whole different range of products, from BOPP, PET, PE, CPP, metalised film, paper, aluminium foil and many more.
The machine is available in widths ranging from 800mm up to 2m and is available with rewind capabilities of 600mm or 800mm. For increased productivity a shaftless unwind is available as well as complete differential shafts.
As with all ASHE slitting machines, the Sapphire uses a unique vacuum pull
roller as a main tension isolation point, which eliminates the need for troublesome
nip rollers and S wraps. A driven layon system is also standard on the machine.
Shafted or shaftless unwind, both of which are powered electrically.
No hydraulics are used on the machine which makes it a very clean application.

- 450 metres per minute maximum speed.
Various options are available on the machine from laser core
alignment, digital knife positioning, automatic knife positioning,
driven unwind, splice table, static eliminators and many different
options for offloading the finished reels and taking them away from
the machine.
The machine uses state of the art AC digital flux vector drives and
also a Siemens S7 PLC. A modem is also connected for remote diagnostics.
