Sapphire S2TWide-Web Duplex Turret Slitter Rewinder
The primary advantage of duplex turret slitter rewinders lies in their ability to maintain productivity. Unlike standard duplex machines that pause during roll changeovers, the duplex turret design features four rewinding shafts (two on each turret ring), allowing the machine to keep running during offloading and re-coring processes. This significantly reduces downtime compared to conventional duplex systems.
The Sapphire S2T duplex turret slitter rewinder is an evolution of the Sapphire S2 duplex model, offering a clean, hydraulic-free operation that is well-suited for flexible packaging and medical applications. Enhanced by modern control technology, the machine is user-friendly and features a compact web path for efficient operation. Additional automation options, such as automatic knife and core positioning systems, further streamline setup and changeover times.
A unique feature of the Sapphire S2T is its turret shaft support system, which provides complete support for the rewind shafts throughout the turreting cycle. This support structure facilitates rapid cycle times from the moment the machine stops upon reaching the set length to the initiation of the next run.
The machine's ability to handle diverse substrates without manual intervention or maintenance is made possible by the vacuum roller and the driven lay-on roller system. Various roll-handling configurations are available, ranging from fixed pedestals to fully automated robotic solutions.
